As per a statement from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Hannah Kocher, aged 25, along with a 5-year-old girl, died in a crash that occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Highway 85 and 23rd Street Northwest, located south of Watford City. The identity of the girl will remain undisclosed, according to the statement.

The incident transpired when a 2013 Ford Fusion, operated by Jacob Shepard, 25, from Watford City, was heading south on Highway 85, nearing the intersection with 23rd Street Northwest. Concurrently, a 2006 Peterbilt, driven by Mickey Gramley, 41, from Bybee, Tennessee, was traveling east on 23rd Street Northwest.
