Gregory S. Cantrell Obituary, Death; – A head-on collision in Blount County resulted in one fatality and one injury. On Saturday, Alabama State Troopers identified the deceased as Gregory S. Cantrell, a 64-year-old resident of Cleveland. The incident occurred at 3:20 p.m. on Friday along Alabama 160, approximately eight miles southwest of Hayden.

According to Senior Trooper Cody Farrar, Cantrell was operating a Toyota Avalon when it collided head-on with a Toyota Highlander driven by 65-year-old Annette W. Lake from Warrior.

Cantrell was declared dead at the scene of the accident. Lake was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, although details regarding the severity of her injuries have not been disclosed. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, as conducted by the troopers.
