Gage Matthews Obituary, Death: – On the evening of October 11, a tragic accident took place involving a motorcycle and a vehicle on Riddle Bypass Road in proximity to E Street in Riddle, Oregon. At approximately 10:30 p.m., 81-year-old Warren Currier was operating a 2007 Toyota Tacoma in a southbound direction when he executed a left turn onto E Street.
During this maneuver, his vehicle struck a northbound 2024 Ninja Kawasaki motorcycle, which was being ridden by 20-year-old Gage Matthews from Myrtle Creek. Emergency personnel arrived at the scene shortly after the incident; however, Matthews was declared deceased at the location. Currier suffered injuries and was subsequently transported to Mercy Medical Center for medical attention.
The roadway remained closed for around five hours as deputies carried out their investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information regarding the incident to reach out to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, citing Case #24-3959.
