Erin Louise Jones Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified the drivers involved in a collision between two vehicles on U.S. 131, which occurred after one driver traveled against the flow of traffic.

The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, November 2, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and leaving two others with serious injuries, according to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of the Subaru Legacy, who was traveling the wrong way, has been identified as Erin Louise Jones, a 38-year-old woman from Grand Rapids. She was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Ford Fusion that was impacted has been named as Emmanuel Browning, an 18-year-old man from Kalamazoo. He was also pronounced dead, along with the front-seat passenger, another 18-year-old male, as reported by the police.

The Ford Fusion was operating in the correct direction, as stated by law enforcement.

On Tuesday, police confirmed that a fourth victim, a 17-year-old female from the Portage area who was a passenger in the Fusion, also succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. The authorities did not disclose her identity or that of another juvenile who was killed in the incident.

The sheriff’s office indicated that it will not release any further names in deference to a request from the families involved and due to the juvenile status of some individuals.

According to Lt. Brandon Berens, the at-fault driver initially traveled southbound in the Subaru on U.S. 131 before exiting at 129th Avenue.

She subsequently entered the northbound on-ramp and executed a U-turn at the base of the ramp, proceeding south in the northbound lanes, he explained.

Earlier on Tuesday, police confirmed a fourth person died in the crash, a 17-year-old female from the Portage area who was a passenger in the Fusion. Police did not provide her name or the name of another juvenile killed in the crash.

The sheriff’s office said it is not planning to release any other names out of respect.
