Emerald Vanderhorst,Jordan King Obituary, Death; – Two individuals lost their lives in what law enforcement officials are describing as a “targeted shooting” on a Cleveland highway early Saturday morning.

According to preliminary reports from the Cleveland police, officers arrived at approximately 1:40 a.m. at the I-71 North and I-90 split, where a vehicle had collided with a wall. Inside the car, authorities discovered a woman who had sustained gunshot wounds. She was declared dead at the scene.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified her as Emerald Vanderhorst. Additionally, a 31-year-old man in the vehicle had also been shot, according to police. He was transported to a hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

He has been identified as Jordan King.

Police reports indicate that Vanderhorst and King had just departed from a gathering at a residence on Denison Avenue. As they entered the highway, an unidentified vehicle approached, and an occupant fired multiple shots into the victims’ vehicle. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene, according to police.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the shooting to reach out to the Cleveland Police Homicide Unit at (216) 623-5464.
