Elijah Oliver Obituary, Death; – A fourth individual has been apprehended in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in July at an apartment complex located on Acapulco Drive.
Marvin Hall, aged 20, was taken into custody on Monday, facing charges of malice murder, felony murder, and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime, as reported by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office. His arrest took place at a residence on Bungalow Road, with the assistance of deputies and the Southeastern U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force.
Previously, three suspects were arrested in relation to the July 20 shooting that resulted in the death of Elijah Oliver, a 19-year-old from Augusta, in a parking lot situated in the 2400 block of Acapulco Drive.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office announced on Wednesday the arrests of:
– Nasceir Damiano
– Tywan Mitchell, 18
– Devin Anthony Garnett, 19
– Terrell Miller, 16
Mitchell, Garnett, and Miller have all been charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
According to an arrest warrant for Mitchell, he and his co-defendants were involved in a shootout, during which Oliver was struck by gunfire.
The warrant indicates that Oliver sustained a gunshot wound to his upper torso. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a call regarding gunfire at 12:46 a.m. on July 20.
Oliver was declared deceased at 1:23 a.m. at a local hospital, as stated by Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen. The parking lot in question is part of an apartment complex located a few blocks south of the intersection of Deans Bridge Road and Gordon Highway.
An autopsy has been scheduled, and no further information is available at this time, according to Bowen. He is among the latest victims in a violent crime wave that has persisted for over two years, resulting in more than 170 fatalities across the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). Communities, both large and small, have been impacted on either side of the Savannah River, with Augusta, as the largest city in the region, experiencing particularly severe effects.
