Donald E Lincoln Obituary, Death; – Authorities have disclosed the identity of the individual involved in a deadly single-vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday in Schuyler County.
The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as Donald E. Lincoln, a 55-year-old resident of Horseheads. Lincoln was both the driver and the only occupant of the vehicle at the time of the incident, according to the sheriff’s office.
At approximately 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, deputies from the sheriff’s office and personnel from Beaver Dams Rescue responded to a report of a one-car accident near the junction of state Route 414 and Rockwell Road in Beaver Dams. Upon arrival, first responders found Lincoln already deceased at the scene, as reported by the police.
An investigation revealed that Lincoln sustained fatal injuries when the vehicle he was driving on Route 414 veered off the road, collided with an embankment, and struck several trees before coming to a stop, according to the sheriff’s office. Investigators noted that Lincoln was not wearing a seatbelt and believe that this, along with excessive speed, played a role in the tragic accident.
