Djakari Rashawn Pariani Tompkins Obitruary, Death; – The Marin County medical examiner’s office has confirmed the identity of a man who perished in a single-vehicle accident south of Petaluma earlier this week. Djakari Rashawn Pariani-Tompkins, aged 29, lost his life on Monday when he lost control of his vehicle in the 5900 block of Point Reyes-Petaluma Road, located northwest of Novato, as reported by the county.
At approximately 3:40 p.m., Pariani-Tompkins was driving a Ford Expedition westbound in Chileno Valley near McEvoy Ranch, south of Petaluma within Marin County. The circumstances leading to the loss of control remain unclear and are currently under investigation. Pariani-Tompkins’s vehicle veered off the road and subsequently rolled over onto its roof.
It was noted that Pariani-Tompkins was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident, resulting in him being partially ejected from the vehicle and becoming trapped beneath it when it came to a stop, according to the county. A front-seat passenger, who was wearing a seatbelt, managed to free herself from the vehicle following the crash.
Upon arrival, responders found Pariani-Tompkins unresponsive and lifeless. His death was pronounced at the scene without attempts at resuscitation, as he had sustained traumatic injuries deemed incompatible with life, according to the county.
An autopsy was performed by the medical examiner on Tuesday, along with a standard toxicology screening. The determination of the cause and manner of death will await the completion of investigations by the California Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office.
“The Marin County Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner Division extend their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Pariani-Tompkins.” According to the county, Pariani-Tompkins resided in both San Rafael and Petaluma.
