Derek Helmick Obituary, Death;- Tipp City Police have identified the individual at the center of a death investigation. Derek Helmick, aged 38, was recognized by law enforcement on Friday.
As previously mentioned, an inquiry into Helmick’s death commenced after he passed away at an apartment located in the 700 block of Larch Street early Thursday morning.
“At this moment, we wish to reassure the public that this seems to be an isolated event. There is no known danger to the community,” Tipp City police stated in an update on Friday.
Police also indicated that the case involves “multiple factors and necessitates a thorough evaluation to ascertain the circumstances and cause of death.”
Helmick’s remains were transported to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, where an autopsy has been conducted. Investigators are now awaiting additional test results. Authorities have not disclosed any preliminary circumstances believed to be related to Helmick’s death.
“Complex death scenes require numerous steps, including the gathering and meticulous analysis of evidence, as well as the completion and examination of forensic testing. These procedures take time, and we are dedicated to ensuring that accurate and comprehensive information is provided to Mr. Helmick’s family,” police stated.
As previously reported, the Miami County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation were summoned to the scene to aid in the investigation.
