Davon Wood Obituary, Death; – The Boynton Beach Police Department (BBPD) continues to seek information regarding a shooting that took place early Sunday morning in the vicinity of the 500 block of Northeast Second Street and E. Boynton Beach Boulevard.
The incident resulted in one fatality and five injuries. Davon Wood, 31, from Fort Lauderdale, succumbed to his injuries on Sunday after being transported to the hospital.
BBPD has identified the five additional victims. James Laurent from Lake Worth and Josue Jean from Boynton Beach are currently hospitalized in stable condition. Keith Clemons from Port St. Lucie, Derrick Dorsonne from Delray Beach, and Jephte Matilus from Delray Beach have since been discharged from the hospital. Additionally, a sixth victim sought medical attention independently.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the shooting occurred following an altercation between two individuals at a gathering. The Boynton Beach Police Department urges anyone with relevant information about the shooting to contact 561-732-8116.
