Daniel Opitz Arrested; – NEWSCHAIN has acquired new information regarding the arrest of an individual accused of fatally shooting a 69-year-old man in Millington.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) apprehended 36-year-old Daniel Opitz, charging him with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a relative, who was discovered on Monday morning inside a residence on Bonnie Brae Drive, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
He subsequently succumbed to his injuries at a hospital, as reported by SCSO.
According to court documents, Opitz’s brother informed investigators that Taylor shot the man due to allegations of abuse against a family member. The court records further indicate that following the shooting, Opitz embraced a relative and expressed, “I love you, I love you,” before fleeing the scene.
