Christian Shively Obituary, Death; – The coroner’s office has confirmed the identity of a 20-year-old man who tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 64 West near downtown Louisville last week.

As reported by the Jefferson County coroner’s office, Christian Shively succumbed to blunt force trauma at the scene of the motor vehicle accident.

Shively was hit shortly after 2 a.m. on October 31, following his involvement in a hit-and-run incident on I-64 East, according to police. They stated that he abandoned a Hyundai Santa Fe and fled on foot after colliding with a Land Rover at a high speed on I-64 East at the interchange with I-65.

According to police, Shively fled from the Hyundai following the collision. It was during this time that he was “subsequently struck by a passing motorist” while attempting to cross the westbound lanes of I-64.

Shively was declared dead at the scene.

The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) reported that the driver of the vehicle on I-64 West that struck Shively remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. No charges are anticipated.

The driver of the Land Rover was reported to be uninjured, as stated in an LMPD news release.

No charges are anticipated.
