Carol S Sharp Obituary, Death; – A woman lost her life and a man sustained serious injuries following a head-on collision on Monday afternoon in Crawford County, located in southeast Kansas, according to officials.

The incident was reported at 2:45 p.m. on Monday along the US-400 highway, approximately four miles west of Cherokee.

As per the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2015 Nissan Altima was traveling eastbound on US-400 when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup truck that was heading west on the highway. The Nissan subsequently spun counterclockwise and came to a stop in the roadway, while the Dodge truck veered off the roadway to the right, rolled over once, and came to rest on its wheels facing south in the north ditch.

The driver of the Dodge pickup truck, identified as Carol S. Sharp, 68, from Altoona, was taken to Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, where she was pronounced dead. The patrol reported that Sharp was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.

The driver of the Nissan, identified as Eric M. Meyers, 38, from Des Moines, Iowa, was transported to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg with serious injuries. The patrol noted that Meyers was also wearing his seat belt.

According to the patrol, both drivers were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles.
