Carlos Alberto Ortiz Obituary, Death; – Two individuals have been apprehended and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old man in Adelphi, according to law enforcement officials.
The suspects, identified as 24-year-old Jimmy Hernandez-Morales and 27-year-old William Jaminton Pavon-Mancock, both residents of Silver Spring, are alleged to have murdered Carlos Alberto Ortiz, also 35, from Silver Spring.
Police report that at approximately 4 p.m. on September 14, officers were dispatched to the 9200 block of New Hampshire Avenue in response to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, they discovered Ortiz in a wooded area, suffering from at least seven gunshot wounds to his chest, back, and arm. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The following day, a witness provided crucial information regarding the incident. An affidavit revealed that Hernandez-Morales was also present during the shooting and allegedly supplied Pavon-Mancock with the firearm used in the attack. It is claimed that Hernandez-Morales subsequently buried the weapon in a field and retrieved it approximately one week later.
