Brian Walker Obituary, Death;- The Louisiana State Police are conducting an investigation into a fatal accident that occurred in Evangeline Parish, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old driver.

According to troopers, the incident took place on Wednesday, August 27, at approximately 10 p.m. on U.S. Highway 167, close to Filly Lane. The deceased has been identified as Brian Walker from Ville Platte.

Investigators report that Walker was operating a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado in a northbound direction when the vehicle veered off the road during a curve and subsequently overturned. Walker, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, sustained severe injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Impairment is believed to be a contributing factor in this incident. Standard toxicology samples have been taken, and the results are currently pending.

The State Police are reminding drivers that alcohol, prescription drugs, and illegal substances can impair decision-making, slow reaction times, and heighten the likelihood of fatal accidents. Troopers strongly encourage motorists to always wear seatbelts and to plan ahead by designating a sober driver.
