Bernice Pritchard,Rickey Lynn Perry Obituary, Death; – Two individuals have lost their lives following an apparent murder-suicide at a senior living apartment complex in Kennedale, as reported by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. The victims have been identified as 61-year-old Bernice Pritchard and 63-year-old Rickey Lynn Perry.
On November 30, Kennedale police officers were dispatched to the apartments after receiving a welfare check request from Pritchard’s daughter, Leila Brooks. Brooks informed the dispatchers that she had been unable to reach her mother for several days and noted that her mother resided with Perry. According to the warrant, Pritchard and Perry were engaged, and Pritchard had previously expressed to her daughter that Perry “wasn’t very nice.”
Upon entering the apartment, officers discovered both Pritchard and Perry deceased in the bedroom. Brooks characterized her mother as “the embodiment of strength, compassion, and love,” highlighting her dedication as a nurse who “worked tirelessly to build a better future for herself,” in a GoFundMe page established for her mother’s funeral costs.
Brooks further described her mother’s death as an instance of domestic violence, as stated in the GoFundMe. This tragic incident marks the second murder-suicide in the metroplex within a week, with a similar occurrence resulting in two fatalities on December 2 at an apartment complex in The Colony, according to police reports.
