Antonio Peoples Obituary, Death; – The family of Maritza Estevez had traveled to Charm City to attend a wedding and were residing at the Marriott Baltimore Waterfront when they witnessed a shooting incident occurring outside the Ruxton Steakhouse adjacent to their location.

“They heard the ‘Pop! Pop! Pop!’ and upon turning around, they saw a man collapsing on the ground while the assailant continued to fire at him,” Estevez recounted.

The incident took place just before midnight on Saturday, prompting police to respond to reports of gunfire in the 700 block of Aliceanna Street.

Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities noted that an innocent bystander had attempted to assist the victim by performing CPR until emergency services arrived.

Paramedics transported the victim, later identified as 36-year-old Antonio Peoples, to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. It appears that Peoples had traveled from Washington, D.C., to Baltimore to renovate a rowhouse in West Baltimore.

A neighbor who spoke with the victim’s family indicated that he had gone to Harbor East for a meal on Saturday and was fatally shot during an attempted robbery. Regardless of the circumstances, Estevez remarked that the shooting did not affect her experience in Baltimore, considering it a targeted event that could occur in any major city.

“If it happens randomly and you are in the way and you get shot, that’s just… you know… it happens, but we weren’t in trouble,” Estevez stated. “We don’t associate with that kind of people, so I wasn’t nervous. No. Not at all.”
