Andrew Niedzwicki Obituary, Death; Authorities identify Thorp man killed in bicycle vs semi crash in Clark County

Andrew Niedzwicki Obituary, Death; – A 65-year-old man lost his life after being struck by a semi-truck while riding his bicycle on CTH N near Dickerson Avenue in the Township of Worden, located just south of Thorp.

According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, preliminary investigations indicate that a semi-tractor trailer, operated by 63-year-old Richard Wnek, was traveling east on CTH N when it collided with Andrew Niedzwicki, who was also heading east on his bicycle on Tuesday, September 17, at approximately 8:46 a.m.

Niedzwicki was positioned close to the south shoulder of CTH N when the passing semi-tractor trailer struck him, propelling him off the bicycle and onto the south shoulder of the road.

Following the incident, Wnek stopped to report the collision. Niedzwicki was subsequently transported by the Thorp Area Ambulance Service to Stanley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead due to his injuries.

The Thorp Area Fire and Ambulance Service, along with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Clark County Highway Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Clark County Coroner Clarissa Rochester, responded to the scene. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
