Alfonso Salgado Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of a man who was fatally shot in southeast Fresno over the weekend. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 PM on Saturday near the intersection of Cherry Avenue and Golden State Boulevard.
Fresno police reported that 22-year-old Alfonso Salgado was discovered with a gunshot wound lying in the street. Unfortunately, Salgado succumbed to his injuries. Additionally, an 18-year-old companion of Salgado was also injured in the shooting and subsequently transported to the hospital, where he received treatment and has since been discharged.
Officials are now seeking assistance from the community in locating the individual responsible for the shooting. “We are consistently reaching out to the community for support. We are appealing for their assistance,” stated Fresno Police Lt. Paul Cervantes. “There were witnesses present during the incident.
We have spoken to some of them, but we are aware that others were also there.
