Noah Edward Zandstra Obituary, Death; – The Hawai‘i Police Department has confirmed the identity of the 19-year-old who lost his life on the evening of November 22 in a two-vehicle accident in North Kona as Noah Edward Zandstra, a resident of Kailua-Kona.
The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. near mile marker 84 on Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway. Zandstra was traveling south and attempting to overtake several vehicles when his green 2024 Kawasaki Ninja sport motorcycle collided head-on with a silver 2021 Honda CR-V driven by a 65-year-old woman from Waimea.
Following the crash, Zandstra was taken to Kona Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 11 p.m. The driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries and was subsequently transported to Queen’s North Hawai’i Community Hospital in Waimea for initial treatment before being released.
