Bridgette Bowen Obituary, Death;- A 42-year-old woman lost her life in a two-vehicle collision in Prince Edward County on Wednesday evening, caused by a driver traveling the wrong way.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, Virginia State Police troopers arrived at the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Piney Grove Road, located less than half a mile west of Prince Edward Highway, in Prince Edward County.

According to police, an initial investigation indicates that a 2002 Saturn Vue, operated by 55-year-old James Allen from Farmville, was driving on the incorrect side of the road when it collided head-on with a 2013 Infiniti G37, driven by 23-year-old Bre’ana Sealey from Rice.

Police reported that the front-seat passenger in the Saturn, identified as 42-year-old Bridgette Bowen from Rice, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

It was noted that she was not wearing a seat belt, as per police reports.

Allen was wearing a seat belt and sustained no injuries, while Sealey suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. She also was not wearing a seat belt.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
