James Boggs Jr Obituary, Death; – A 46-year-old Richmond man was identified as the bicyclist killed in a collision on West Broad Street in Richmond on Thursday afternoon.
At 3:28 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 1500 block of West Broad Street for a reported collision.
When officers arrived, they found an unconscious man identified as 46-year-old James Boggs, Jr. of Richmond, down on the ground. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died due to his injuries.
An investigation from the Richmond Police Department Crash Team determined that a dark colored sedan had been driving southbound on Bowe Street. The sedan then attempted to take a right turn onto West Broad Street and hit Boggs, a bicyclist riding eastbound on Broad Street crossing Bowe Street.
