Dwanneich Hammonds Obituary, Death; –On Tuesday, law enforcement officials identified a woman who was fatally shot on Monday in a parking garage of a SouthPark apartment complex.
Officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department were dispatched to the Hazel SouthPark apartments located on Barclay Downs Drive shortly before 7 a.m. in response to a report of an assault involving a deadly weapon.
Upon arrival, they discovered 45-year-old Dwanneich Hammonds, who had sustained gunshot wounds. MEDIC transported her to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter.
Homicide detectives have been assigned to the case, and the investigation is ongoing. Residents informed Channel 9 that the incident occurred within the parking garage of the apartment complex. As of Tuesday morning, no information regarding potential suspects has been released.
