Salvador Conejo-Pedraza Obituary, Death; – Sheriff’s deputies apprehended an individual for the investigation of murder concerning the death of a West Wendover father, whose remains were located in the desert earlier this month.
Salvador Conejo-Pedraza, aged 50, was reported missing on June 20, and the Tooele County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that his remains were found on July 10 near Silver Island Loop Road.
On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office announced that Conejo-Pedraza’s death was classified as a homicide. Detectives have identified Geoffry Goldsborough as the suspect, who has been booked into the Tooele County Jail under a warrant for the investigation of Conejo-Pedraza’s death.
“It just hurts, you know,” stated Omar Cornejo, the son of Conejo-Pedraza. “I couldn’t find him in time.”
The disappearance of Conejo-Pedraza initiated a comprehensive search effort that included drones and canine units. His white 1992 Isuzu Rodeo was discovered abandoned on June 22 on Leppy Pass Road, located just north of Wendover. Inside the vehicle, deputies found several drops of blood.
“It doesn’t feel real. I don’t know how to process it. There are a lot of mixed emotions,” Omar Cornejo expressed to KSL-TV last week. “Not like this. He didn’t have to leave this way.”
In spite of the tragic outcome, the Cornejo family conveyed their profound gratitude for the support from the community and established a GoFundMe* campaign to assist with funeral costs.
“I truly appreciate it, and I am grateful for all the support. May God bless them,” Omar Cornejo remarked.
