Mary Elizabeth Moody Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified the woman who died in a two-car collision on Great Seneca Highway in Montgomery County, authorities said.
According to Montgomery County police, 71-year-old Mary Elizabeth Moody of Germantown was driving a white Subaru south on Great Seneca Highway when she attempted to turn left onto eastbound Mateny Road. When she did, police said she was struck by a black Mazda traveling north on the highway.
The impact from the crash caused the Subaru to roll, and Moody was thrown from the car. Despite lifesaving efforts, police said Moody died at the scene. The male driver of the Mazda was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Police said the crash happened shortly after 10:30 p.m. Monday.
The Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash
