Erin J. Strozier Obituary, Death; – East Cleveland Police Chief Ken Lundy announced on Sunday morning that a 23-year-old man lost his life due to the series of shootings that occurred last week.

The East Cleveland Police responded to three separate shooting incidents in the early hours of September 2, one of which took place at a Mobil gas station during the Shaw High School reunion, as stated by East Cleveland City Council President Antwon Billings.

Chief Lundy reported that Erin J. Strozier, aged 23, was discovered on Elwood Road around 2:30 a.m., but there is no reliable information indicating that Strozier was present at the gas station when the gunfire erupted around 2:05 a.m. during the reunion. Regarding the five other individuals injured in the shootings, Chief Lundy confirmed that they are all currently alive.

While no arrests have been made thus far, the East Cleveland Police are actively investigating the incidents and conducting interviews. A press release from Acting Police Chief Lundy indicated that the East Cleveland Police Department (ECPD) was dispatched to the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Collamer Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. on September 2.

Upon arrival, ECPD officers discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound at the scene, along with a woman who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Both victims were subsequently transported to the hospital.

Just after 2 a.m., ECPD officers were present at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Shaw Avenue when they heard gunfire emanating from the Mobil gas station located on the 15100 block of Euclid Avenue. The release noted that at least three gunshot victims were taken to the hospital, either by police or in private vehicles. At 2:30 a.m., ECPD was dispatched to the 1300 block of Elwood Road, where they found Strozier with a gunshot wound, and he was also taken to the hospital.

Acting Chief Lundy stated that the three shooting incidents are unrelated. Additionally, East Cleveland was hosting a Shaw High School reunion, as mentioned by Billings. Police have yet to confirm any connection between the reunion and the shootings.
