Dennis Harris Obituary, Death; – The identity of Peoria’s tenth homicide victim for the year has been confirmed. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood reported that 30-year-old Dennis Harris was declared deceased at the location of a shooting that also resulted in another individual being hospitalized late Wednesday night.
It has been indicated that Harris sustained a gunshot wound to the head. An autopsy for Harris is scheduled for Friday. As previously mentioned, Peoria Police responded to a call shortly before 8:25 p.m. at the intersection of South MacArthur Highway and West Johnson Street, following a Shot Spotter alert that detected six gunshots in the area.
According to law enforcement, the second victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not yet disclosed any details regarding potential suspects.
