William Gonzalez Obituary, Death; – A passenger who was ejected from a Penske truck that collided with a tree early Sunday morning in Sacramento has been identified as William Gonzalez.
Gonzalez, 29, lost his life after the truck crashed into a tree at approximately 4:20 a.m. on southbound Interstate 5, just south of Florin Road, as reported by authorities.
A 36-year-old man was operating a 2024 Penske truck traveling south on I-5 at an undetermined speed and in an unspecified lane when, for reasons yet to be determined, he executed an unsafe turning maneuver and veered off the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The truck subsequently struck a tree, resulting in Gonzalez being ejected from the vehicle. He sustained fatal injuries, while the driver was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, as stated by law enforcement. No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and it remains unclear whether alcohol played a role, according to the CHP.
