William Alan Dressler Obituary, Death; – The Shasta County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the individual who was fatally shot outside his residence in Redding last week.
As reported by the Coroner’s Office, the deceased has been identified as 71-year-old William Alan Dressler, a resident of Redding. The office has indicated that the next of kin has been informed and that a postmortem examination has been conducted.

The Redding Police Department (RPD) stated that officers were dispatched to a location near Brent Road and Wilshire Drive at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Dressler’s body near the driveway of a residence, exhibiting gunshot wounds.
According to law enforcement, the suspect in the shooting, identified as 34-year-old Robert Milton, fled to his home situated across the street after the incident. Police reported that Milton eventually emerged from his residence while armed, but officers were able to apprehend him without any complications. Following his detention, Milton allegedly assaulted several officers, resulting in one officer requiring medical attention and subsequently being placed on paid leave.
