Wendi Suzet Gonzalez-Leon Obituary, Death; – The Texas Department of Public Safety has successfully identified the woman who tragically lost her life in a collision on New Year’s Day in Del Valle, thanks to tips provided by the public.
Details are as follows: Authorities have confirmed that the pedestrian who died in the incident, which occurred just south of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, was identified as 20-year-old Wendi Suzet Gonzalez-Leon.
The Texas DPS reported that numerous tips were received shortly after they released images of Gonzalez-Leon to the public. The family of the victim has been informed of her passing.
Background information: The incident took place at approximately 8:20 p.m. when a 2005 Honda Pilot was traveling eastbound on McAngus Road, specifically in the 10800 block, situated between SH 130 and FM 973.
According to DPS, the vehicle struck the woman, who was in the roadway, after the driver crested a small hill and was unable to avoid her. The driver remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the ongoing investigation. The woman was subsequently airlifted to Dell Seton Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.
