Virginia Montoya Obituary, Death; – Authorities report that a 78-year-old woman was fatally shot after responding to the front door of her residence on Wednesday evening.
Emergency services received a call at approximately 6:53 p.m. from a resident on the 1300 block of Traver Street. The caller, an 80-year-old man, informed them that his wife had been shot while answering the door. Upon arrival, first responders discovered the woman with a gunshot wound to her chest. She was promptly transported to the hospital, where she subsequently succumbed to her injuries.
The victim has been identified as Virginia Montoya, aged 78. Investigators are urging local residents to check their home security camera footage for any recordings that may assist in identifying the perpetrator.
