Travis Clark Obituary, Death; – A man from Gray died Friday night after the motorcycle he was driving crashed on Middle Road in Fairfield.
The crash happened shortly before 10:15 p.m. on July 11 in the 200 block of Middle Road (Route 104), Fairfield police said in a press release. A motorcycle traveling southbound failed to negotiate a curve and struck a telephone pole, the release stated.
The rider, identified as 42-year-old Travis Clark of Gray, was ejected from the 2015 Harley-Davidson. He died at the scene, according to police.
Officials said a preliminary investigation indicates speed contributed to the crash. Officer Joseph Kibbie is leading the investigation, with assistance from Sergeant Matthew Wilcox and Captain Paul St. Amand, according to police.
The Fairfield/Benton Fire Department also responded to the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
