Tracian Jones,Jerry Dotson III Arrested; – Three teenagers have been charged in connection with the murder of a 35-year-old man from Canton, and they are set to be arraigned in Stark County Family Court on Wednesday afternoon. Bryson Barksdale was fatally shot when gunfire was directed at his residence located in the 1900 block of Otto Place N.E. at approximately 12:30 a.m. on April 7, 2023.
Upon the arrival of law enforcement, they discovered the victim unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the neck, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The individuals charged include 19-year-olds Tracian Jones and Jerry Dotson III, along with a 17-year-old male. They face charges of murder, improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation, and felonious assault.
At the time of the incident, all three were juveniles. Canton Police Lieutenant Dennis Garren stated, “The 20-month investigation that led to these arrests was a collaborative effort involving our Detective Bureau investigators, the Special Investigations Unit, and our federal partners from the ATF and FBI.”
