Timothy Harrison Obituary, Death; – The Roanoke Police are currently conducting an investigation into a deadly accident involving a moped that took place earlier this month.
As reported by the Roanoke Police Department, the Major Crash Team is overseeing the inquiry following the incident, which occurred on November 5 at approximately 8:29 a.m. Officers responded to the intersection of 5th Street and Elm Avenue SW after receiving reports of a serious collision.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered an injured man who was suffering from life-threatening injuries.
He was taken to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries on November 8. The police have identified the victim as 56-year-old Timothy Harrison from Roanoke.
Initial findings suggest that the moped was heading north on 5th Street SW when it allegedly ran a red light and collided with a Ford F-150 that was traveling east on Elm Avenue SW with a green light.
The investigation is still ongoing as detectives continue to collect further information regarding the crash.
