Tamia Gordon Obituary, Death; – The Delaware State Police have apprehended 23-year-old Chase Washington from Magnolia in relation to a deadly shooting that took place on Tuesday evening in Magnolia.

Authorities reported that on September 30, 2025, at around 7:30 p.m., troopers were dispatched to a residence located in the 800 block of Millchop Lane in Magnolia following a report of a shooting incident. Upon their arrival, they found 20-year-old Tamia Gordon from Magnolia, Delaware, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, where she was declared deceased.

In light of the incident’s severity, the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit was called in to take over the investigation. Initial findings indicated that Washington, who was known to Gordon, was present in the residence with her while recklessly handling a loaded firearm, as stated by police on Wednesday. Consequently, the firearm discharged, hitting the victim.

Washington was arrested and taken to Troop 3, where he faced charges of Manslaughter for Recklessly Causing the Death of Another Person (Felony) and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony).

He was subsequently arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and remanded to the Sussex Correctional Institution under a cash bond of $100,000.
