Stephen McCraine Obituary, Death; – A man who was fatally shot over a pair of sneakers at a Jackson apartment complex has been named. The Jackson Police Department has identified the deceased as 44-year-old Stephen McCraine.
The incident occurred last month at the Pine Ridge Garden apartments located off Rebelwood Drive. Deputy Chief Sequerna Banks reported that investigators discovered multiple pieces of evidence at the scene linking 23-year-old Curtis “Scooter” Sawyer to the homicide.
Another individual, known by the nickname “Mane,” voluntarily surrendered to law enforcement for questioning. Authorities did not take him into custody, and Banks stated that he is not associated with this case.
