Simon Robledo Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual who passed away following a collision involving a Chula Vista Police vehicle last week. The incident occurred last Friday at approximately 6:15 p.m. at the intersection of Olympic Parkway and Windingwalk Street.
As reported by the Chula Vista Police Department, an officer in a marked police vehicle was executing a left turn onto southbound Windingwalk Street. During this maneuver, a motorcycle traveling eastbound on Olympic Parkway collided with the side of the police vehicle.
On Tuesday, the CVPD identified the motorcyclist as Simon Robledo, a 28-year-old resident of Chula Vista. He suffered critical injuries in the accident and was transported to the hospital, where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
In the wake of the incident, the department released a statement expressing, “On behalf of the Chula Vista Police Department, Chief Roxana Kennedy extends her heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Robledo. While the investigation is still in its preliminary phases and many details will not be available for some time, Chief Kennedy and her department take the loss of life very seriously.”
