Sharon Farnsworth Obituary, Death; – The Portland Police Bureau publicly identified two drivers who died in separate car crashes in Portland earlier this month.
Sharon Farnsworth, 77, of Great Falls, Montana, was the driver killed in a crash on U.S. 30 near the St. Johns Bridge on June 9.
Farnsworth and a passenger crashed into a “stopped or slowing” semi-trailer truck, police said. Farnsworth was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died due to her injuries. The passenger, whose name hasn’t been released, survived.
Less than a week later, Michael Payne, 82, of Portland, was killed in a head-on collision near Southeast Division Street and 119th Avenue on June 14.
Payne, a driver of one of the cars in the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person involved was taken to a hospital. Police have not identified the other person.
