Shon Greenfield Obituary, Death; – On Monday, the Lincoln Police Department identified the individual who lost his life in a trailer home fire. Authorities reported that the deceased was 36-year-old Shon Greenfield.
Shortly after midnight on Saturday, Lincoln Fire & Rescue responded to a fire located near Southwest 15th Street and West Peach streets. As per the Lincoln Police Department, the fire originated on the porch and rapidly spread to the residence, completely engulfing it.
The flames also extended to a nearby trailer, resulting in a combined structural damage of $53,000 to both homes, according to Lincoln Fire & Rescue. Police indicated that there was an additional $40,000 in damage to the home’s contents, bringing the total damage to over $90,000.
An investigator from Lincoln Fire & Rescue stated that the fire was accidentally ignited due to the improper disposal of smoking materials.
According to the Lincoln Police Department, three individuals were evacuated from the residence; however, Greenfield — who utilized a wheelchair — was discovered deceased inside after the fire was put out.
Additionally, a dog and a cat perished in the fire, as reported by the police department and Lincoln Fire & Rescue.
