Shane Linderman Obituary, Death; – The Mahoning County Coroner’s office has identified the individual who was shot and killed by law enforcement during an incident at the Dollar General on Belmont Avenue.

Shane Linderman, aged 50, was declared deceased at the scene. An autopsy was performed at the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office. Police were dispatched shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday following reports of a man, later identified as Linderman, who had inflicted stab wounds upon himself and a woman within the store.

Upon arrival, Police Chief Carl Davis stated that officers found a man with a stab wound and a woman who had sustained a severe stab wound and was unresponsive. During this encounter, Chief Davis reported that an officer discharged his weapon, resulting in Linderman’s death.

The woman was transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition, according to an update provided on Wednesday. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) has been called in to carry out an independent investigation, while the Youngstown Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division will conduct its own internal inquiry.
