Shad Volbrecht Obituary, Death; – A motorcyclist who lost his life in a collision over the weekend has been named. The victim has been identified by the Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office as 53-year-old Shad Volbrecht, a resident of Lake Geneva.
As reported by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at approximately 12:10 p.m. at the intersection of Como Road and Alder Drive in the town of Geneva. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, where they discovered a damaged car and motorcycle at the intersection.
First responders made efforts to provide medical assistance to the motorcyclist; however, he was pronounced dead at the scene by officials from the Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office. The individuals in the car sustained no injuries.
Initial investigations indicated that the car was stationary, waiting for oncoming traffic to pass before executing a left turn when it was struck from behind by the motorcyclist. The incident is currently under investigation by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team.
