Ruth Frater Obituary, Death; – The Lucas County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the woman who perished in a house fire in South Toledo on Tuesday. Ruth Frater, aged 77, succumbed to injuries sustained when her residence ignited around 1 p.m., according to officials.

A neighbor reported to 911 that they heard a loud explosion emanating from a house in the 500 block of Apple Avenue, followed by the sight of smoke billowing from the chimney and front door of the home. Upon arrival shortly thereafter, emergency crews observed smoke rising from the second floor of 536 Apple Avenue, as reported by officials.

Rescue units located Mrs. Frater on the first floor, and she was subsequently transported to the University of Toledo Medical Center, where she passed away later that evening. The investigation into the cause of the fire was ongoing as of Wednesday.
