Russell Olson Obituary, Death; – Investigators identified the man killed in a house fire on Sunday in Fairfax.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says the call for a fire came in at 2:24 AM on Sunday for a home at 256 Olson Court in Fairfax. Firefighters arrived to the house fully engulfed. Witnesses reported an elderly man did not escape. On Monday, investigators identified that man as 93 year-old Russell Olson of Fairfax.
Two homeowners were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and two others inside were able to make it out unharmed.
The State Fire Marshall is still investigating the cause of the fire.
