Roy Stevenson Obituary, Death; – Winston-Salem Police are conducting an investigation into a deadly traffic incident involving a pedestrian on New Walkertown Road.
The event took place on Sunday at 8:56 p.m., when 75-year-old Roy Stevenson was struck by a 2022 Chevrolet Malibu operated by 32-year-old Dexteria Emon Taylor.
According to police reports, Stevenson was traversing the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit and was pronounced dead at the scene. Taylor remained at the location and cooperated with law enforcement. She was subsequently transported to a nearby medical facility with minor injuries.
The investigation is being led by the Traffic Enforcement Unit of the police department.
Stevenson’s relatives have been informed. No additional information is available at this moment.
