Rolando German Ramirez Vargas Obituary, Death; – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the individual who was fatally shot at Potomac Park as 21-year-old Rolando German Ramirez Vargas, a resident of Bakersfield.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the scene of the shooting at approximately 6 a.m. on February 4, 2025. Upon their arrival, they discovered Vargas suffering from a gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead at the location.
Homicide detectives from the KCSO subsequently arrived to take over the investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to contact the Kern County Sheriff’s Office at (661) 861-3110 or Kern Secret Witness at (661) 322-4040.
A vigil was held at the park on Tuesday evening.
