Rodney Cooper Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified a man who was fatally shot early Monday in the Phillips neighborhood of Minneapolis.
Rodney Cooper, a 52-year-old resident of Brooklyn Park, was shot at approximately 3 a.m. near the intersection of Lake Street and 13th Avenue South, as reported by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Cooper with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the prompt response from paramedics and fire rescue, he was declared dead at the scene.
The Minneapolis Police Department indicated that additional officers were dispatched to the location to manage an “uncooperative and hostile crowd.” Preliminary investigations by the MPD suggest that a gathering had taken place in the vicinity prior to the gunfire. As of Wednesday, no arrests have been made.
