Robert F McCarthy Obituary, Death; – The police have identified the bicyclist who tragically lost his life in a fatal accident. Robert F. McCarthy, a 69-year-old resident of Hicksville, was fatally injured during the early hours of Sunday in Westbury when a Chrysler Sebring, operated by 41-year-old Wilfredo Blanco Molina of Hicksville, collided with his bicycle, according to law enforcement officials.
McCarthy was declared deceased at the scene of the accident, which occurred on Old Country Road near State Street, as reported by the police. Molina, who initially fled the scene, was apprehended shortly thereafter and faces charges of second-degree vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and driving under the influence, according to authorities.
