Ricky R Washington Jr Death; – Topeka authorities announced on Tuesday the identification of the city’s 17th homicide victim for the year 2024. According to police reports, Ricky R. Washington Jr., a 45-year-old resident of Topeka, was fatally shot at approximately 9 a.m. on Sunday in the 1200 block of S.W. Huntoon. Law enforcement officials confirmed that Washington was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additionally, another individual sustained injuries during the incident and was transported to a nearby hospital, where their condition was reported to be life-threatening. The investigation into the shooting remains active as of Tuesday. Further information has not been disclosed at this time.
