Richard Sadowitz Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of a man who lost his life in a wrong-way collision on I-75 on Tuesday. According to his obituary, he was a physician. The Chattanooga Police Department reports that initial investigations indicate a 37-year-old woman was operating a Nissan Sentra in the wrong direction on Interstate 75.

Emergency Medical Services transported a child, who was a passenger in the Nissan, to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. The police stated that both the drivers of the Nissan and a Honda were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda has been identified as Richard Sadowitz.

His obituary highlights that he was a well-respected gastroenterologist in Chattanooga for three decades and served on the board of directors for Orange Grove Centers, where his son Phillip resides as a client.
