Ricardo Louis Augustus Sutherland Obituary, Death; – The individual who succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound following a standoff with sheriff’s deputies in Pinson has been named. Ricardo Louis Augustus Sutherland, aged 39 and a resident of Pinson, was declared deceased at the scene located in the 5200 block of Old Pinson Road on Wednesday.
Deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the residence in response to reports of a “mentally disturbed person threatening self-harm.” During the standoff, Sutherland discharged his weapon at the deputies present.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has indicated that an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday to assess Sutherland’s injuries and ascertain the cause and manner of death. Further updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.
